Paper Trufflez Blog Hop - Everything Christmas

Welcome to the Paper Trufflez Team Blog Hop. The theme for this hop is “Everything Christmas.” If you have come from Lisa Hidy’s blog, you are on the right path.

The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here. It’s really simple to hop along with us. Simply click on the link at the end of each blog post to move to the next one.

I love Christmas Villages so I decide to make a cottage.  To create this, I used Cricut Season of Joy Digital Collection.  The main part of the house is made of Kraft paper and the door, roof and trim are made from the Tis' the Season Paper Pack.  The chimney is not part of the Cricut design.  I added that myself.

To add that old world look, I textured bricks on the house with Opaque Matte Texture Paste and then sponged some color on them using the Candy Apple Exclusive Ink Stamp Pad.  I used White Glitter Paper for snow.

Of course, to celebrate the season, I added a Noel Wreath from Cricut Season of Joy Digital Collection.  I love all the images in this collection.  The greenery above the window is called Holly Border.  It is from Cricut Artisty Digital Collection. New England Ivy and Candy Apple cardstock go so well together with little red pearls.  Our white core cardstock makes the greenery look like they have a dusting of snow on them. It was hard to stop adding more things to this little cottage. You can really get carried away!

Paper Trufflez Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Trufflez Team Blog Hop. The participants in this hop will be highlighting new products from the 2018 Holiday Expressions catalog. If you have come from Amy Pitts's blog, you are on the right path.

I love dabbling in mixed media. When Close To My Heart came out with Opaque Matte Texture Paste, I just had to play with it.

I created a brick stencil using Cricut Artbooking Digital Collection and Stencil Sheets

The leaves are made with the texture paste by spreading the texture paste on cardstock, let it dry for about 30 min., then stamped the oak leaves into the texture paste.  The oak leaf is from the stamp set Grateful Heart Cardmaking.  I painted the leaves with Goldrush, Pomegranate, and Fern using Close To My Hearts Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads

To give the card a little sparkle, I embossed the words with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder on vellum paper.  The sentiment came from Close To My Heart October Stamp of the Month, Thanks & Giving.

I also entered this card in the Three Amigos October Challenge.

My First Challenge

I decided to step out of my comfort zone this month and participate in two challenges,  Color My Heart Color Dare and Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge. Color Dare is a weekly color combination challenge using the CTMH color palette. Three Amigos is a month long challenge based on the featured CTMH paper pack or any color combination from that pack. Both challenges are anything goes as far as what you want to make, and both have prizes.

The colors for the Color Dare were Raspberry, White Daisy, Black, Emerald, Sea Glass and Silver.    Since these colors are also in the  Prickly Pear  paper pack, my card fulfills both challenges. I didn’t have a stamp set that had a "Miss You” sentiment, so I decided to try our July Stamp of the Month, Storybook Alphabet. I love the whimsical look of these letters!.

I used Versamark Ink and heat embossed the letters with White Embossing Powder.  I also dry embossed the black cardstock with the Simple Chevron Embossing Folder to give it texture. My inspiration was from Sunday Sketches SS007.  As you can tell, I made a few changes. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to do the next challenge!.

Papers from our Seasonal Expression 2

Wow! It's been a while since I last posted.  Let me tell you what I have been up to lately.

At the end of June, I went to the Close To My Hearts Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.  It was an amazing event and we got to tour the home office of Close To My Heart. One tradition that is repeated every year is exchanging gifts with our roommates.  These gifts usually are something that is handmade with CTMH products.  I would like to share with you one of the gifts I received from a good friend of mine, Susan Fogle.

Susan made this adorable card box.  Don't you love the bear?  He is so cute.  This bear is from a stamp set from the Jack cardmaking kit.

Inside this box were three handmade cards.  The first one was from our No Worries Paper Pack. The look of  the No Worries paper makes me feel like I'm vacation.
The next card in the box is from the Little Dreamer paper pack and who doesn't like unicorns? This paper is perfect for any little girl.
The last card is our Prickly Pear paper pack. This is for those who love partying. These bright colors make me want to have a fiesta!
Did you notice that each card is decorated in the inside to make it look more inviting than just a blank card?  If you want to see more of Susan's paper menagarie, hop over to her blog, http://paper-menagerie.blogspot.com/ and say hi.

Have any of these paper packs grabbed your atttention? To view each design in these packs, just click the shop button up top and it will bring you to my shopping website.

Enjoy.
